What Should You Do if You Didn’t Get the LSAT Score You Want?
June 2010 LSAT scores were released on Friday—“released” being a euphemism for invading the inbox of thousands of panic-stricken students feverishly hitting the gmail refresh button in two-second intervals.
At this point, you’re experiencing one of three scenarios:
1. You scored higher on the June LSAT than you thought
2. You scored about what you thought
3. You scored lower on the June LSAT than you thought
If you’re a member of group 1, don’t say it out loud to any other June LSAT taker unless they, too, scored well. Though how would you know this, unless they or you volunteered the information, thus violating the rule not to say it out loud. Catch 22, people.

June 2010 LSAT Scores and Curve Released

UPDATE
So it looks like the removed question from the June 2010 LSAT was from one of the Logical Reasoning sections.
As to the curve (-12 for a 170, with a removed question to boot), this is about a year and a half now of pretty lenient curves, which could indicate a few different things.
First, people could have just gotten dumber in the last year and a half.
Second, the test itself may have gotten harder in the last year and a half. We know games are making a bit of a comeback.
Third, more people could be taking the test without adequate preparation. With so many people taking the exam to escape a crumbling economic reality, I’d personally roll with choice 3.
What are your thoughts?

June 2010 LSAT Recap Blog Carnival
That’s right, kiddies, it’s that time again: the post-LSAT Blog Carnival. We’ve trolled the interconnected tubes and webs for any and all LSAT recaps and reactions. The reviews were…mixed.
“A six hour brain humping courtesy of the law school admissions council.” This blogger’s post was pithy, but it is, if not a “good” tone to start off, at least an indicative one.
Christian declines to state how his LSAT went, but instead focuses on what his ideal testing experience would have been: Augustine of Hippo cooking him a good breakfast of scones and Jesus sitting next to him in the testing center supplying him answers. Oh, and Bono was there. Here’s hoping that some day this psychedelic LSAT dream can become a reality.

Studying with Rod: Practice LSAT 2, Wednesday Morning Quarterback
You are literally minutes away from the actual LSAT. Thousands of minutes, of course, all of which make up 32 days (now change your underwear). As your instructor likely told you as you prepared for Practice Exam #2, there is plenty of time to improve your score, and that some scores will actually decrease at this point in the course. If you’re like me, these claims were met with distrust and seemed to be part of some sort of reverse psychology technique designed to preemptively ward off the freaked out students. It’s a good thing that the LSAT rewards this type of paranoia and extreme skepticism. You’re on the right track, congratulations!

Taking Your Second Practice LSAT
Taking your second practice exam while studying for the LSAT can be a daunting experience. Your first score can be laughed off as the result of not knowing a thing about the test, a sleepless night, a particularly bad episode of LOST (e.g. all of the last season’s episodes), or any other number of reasons. But by the second LSAT, you presumably know what you’re doing and the score really counts, right?
As Lear once said to Goneril (the best STDesque literary name of all time): That way lies madness. If you’re taking your second practice LSAT with over a month to go until the test, then you definitely should NOT be fixated on the score. There are important things to learn from a second practice exam, but what it means for your final LSAT score is not one of them. This is because you’re taking a test without knowing all of the methods for all of the questions, so it’s not a good representation of your final score. In fact, we at Blueprint LSAT Prep find it’s normal for student scores to go down for practice exam 2, then rebound after they’ve learned how to approach every type of question.

Reaching LSAT Nirvana: Five Easy Steps to a 180
Last week, I explained to you how my LSAT score of 180 was a terrible burden to bear, but in so doing, I failed to explain how I attained that score. So now, dear reader, I present to you my patented, fool-proof, 100% guaranteed method for LSAT dominance (only 3 easy payments of $99.99 $39.99). How can I guarantee it will work? Well, I’ve never been one to brag (at least not to strangers), but my method has a perfect record – it has consistently delivered 180s 100% of the time, every time (and you’d be a fool to argue with results like that).
But rather than just share my method (much too practical and plain), I’d like to enliven the discussion (and simultaneously stroke my ego) by talking about the most interesting man in the world, myself (damn you, Dos Equis). I am going to share my story for the first time – a tale of luck, laziness, and determination – a trifecta of conditions that together wove their way into a perfect storm of LSAT mastery. That’s right, my score was more a product of circumstance, rather than a singular manifestation of my awesomeness.

Waiting for February LSAT Scores
Three weeks to wait for an LSAT score is a long time.
Three weeks is one week longer than the Olympics, and that at least has curling. In three weeks you can lose five pounds the bad way, watch enough LOST to wonder how it became a global phenomenon, and finish the entire Twilight series. (The last of these is presented as a fact, not as an accomplishment). (more…)
Should I Cancel the February LSAT?
You have until Friday to decide. No, I am not talking about your destination for Valentine’s Day or your excuse for making this weekend a super-long weekend. Friday is the deadline to cancel your February LSAT score.
For some students, this decision brings sleepless nights and lots of overeating. A bad LSAT score is not a great thing to have on your record. Not as bad as a conviction for international espionage or anything, but not great.

December 2009 LSAT Scores Are Out
Scores have arrived.
Thousands of anxious LSAT students awoke this morning with a frightening email in their Inbox. Subject: Your December 2009 LSAT Score. After a brief panic attack and some inspirational videos, many students have not yet summoned the courage to actually open said email.
But once you have, you can join the big topic of conversation… the curve. (more…)
Should I Cancel the December LSAT?
You have until tomorrow to decide. No, I am not talking about your outfit for NYE or your take on mistress #12 in the Tiger debacle. Tomorrow is the deadline to cancel your December LSAT score.
For some students, this decision brings sleepless nights and lots of overeating. A bad LSAT score is not a great thing to have on your record. Not as bad as a conviction for international espionage or anything, but not great.
